He Kai village area is south of Menghai town on the way to Lao Ban Zhang. It could be considered northern Bu Lang mountains, but has a distinct character of it's own. Our tea was harvested in April 2020 from 100+ year old tea trees and bushes. It was grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. The tea is thick and full-bodied, with bitterness and astringency and long lasting sweet after-taste. It's got a strong almost briny taste in the early steeps, and mellows out in a nice way in later steeps. Plenty of complexity and power to age wonderfully! 70 kilograms in total pressed 357 Grams per cake (7 Cakes per bamboo leaf tong) Wrapper Illustration by Anna Malec We also offer two other He Kai Village Raw cakes from a different tea garden here: 2018 Yunnan Sourcing "He Kai" Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake 2019 Yunnan Sourcing "He Kai" Raw Pu-erh Tea Cake This tea has been tested in a certified laboratory for 191 pesticides, and is within the EU MRL limits set for those 191 pesticide residues.
