Tip: start at ~95°C, then adjust down 3–5°C if it turns sharp.

Floral taste with sweet aftertaste Lu An Gua Pian Green Tea is one of the 10 most famous Chinese Teas . The literal English Translation is Liu An Melon Seed, or Liu An Melon Slice. This Tea is grown in the Liu An County in the Dabie Mountains of China's Western Anhui Province and got its name from the shape of the processed tea leaves. They are flat and oval, resembling a melon seed. In early spring the tea growers cut off the end of the tea tree branches and use the second tea leaf and not the bud, as in most teas. Each leaf's central vein is cut out and the leaves are pan fried over low heat. During the frying stage, the leaves are shaped into the melon seed shape. It is considered a truly elegant tea with a light, spicy, very smooth and sweet aroma. The floral taste and aftertaste of a cup of Lu An Gua Pian is a reminiscence of Tie Guan Yin tea. Its pleasant floral sweetness gradually fills your mouth. Very refreshing and velvety. Lu An Gua Pian Tea can not only help to eliminate the hotness and satisfy the thirsty, but also the digestion. It is also said to be able to help improve vision and sleep disorder. Consequently, it is regarded as a treasure tea.
