Sir Stuart Black and Green Tea is a Flavoured Tea . As the name indicates, it is a combination of Tea Leaves from both Green and Black Tea as the base ingredients. We then add Ginger Root, Fennel, Cardamom Seeds, Rose Petals, Cornflower Blossoms and All-Natural Flavouring. This Loose Tea was dubbed “Sir Stuart” in honour of Stuart Cleary, a dear friend of our family-run business’ owner, Richard Smith. Following a trip to the East, Stuart discovered many of the unique foods and flavours of the Orient. These we’ve utilised in the making of our Sir Stuart Black and Green Tea Blend . But what are the stories behind such remarkable and exotic ingredients? Cardamom derives from the seeds of numerous plants in the Elettaria and Amomum genera. Belonging to the Zingiberaceae family and, as a result, a relative of Ginger Root Tea , it is one of the oldest known spices in the world. Meanwhile, the consumption of Ginger Root itself dates back some 5,000 years, around the same time people began drinking Tea. You can now enjoy them together. Caffeine Levels in the Tea Neither Cardamom nor Ginger Tea contains caffeine, a stimulating chemical compound famous for providing an energy boost. However, Tea leaves do have the chemical compound within them – both Green and Black. While the former type boasts about 30-mg per serving, the latter has an estimated 45-mg in an 8-oz cup. In other words, you can start your day the right way here. Brewing Instructions Add five grams of Loose Tea to a Tea Filter or Infuser. Place the Tea-filled accessory in a cup or mug of your choice. Pour in freshly boiled water left cool to temperatures between 70°C and 90°C. Allow it to steep for 2-3 minutes. How to Serve: Consider honey or lemon. Alternatively, serve black.
