The term “punches above its weight” gets thrown around a lot these days, but even at the upper end of this year’s standard level dancongs, this Huangzhixiang does just that. A dynamic varietal by nature, this tea embodies both a floral fragrance and fruity sweetness. The early steeps highlight this fruitiness, while a buttery-lavender quality develops in later steeps. While this tea is highly enjoyable in terms of fragrance and flavour, the texture is also excellent. Smooth and silky, this tea produces a full feeling in the mouth that is uncommon for its price range. Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin. $0.43-0.53/gram Varietal: Huangzhixiang/黄枝香/Yellow Gardenia Fragrance Region: Wudong Shan, Guangdong Altitude: 700-900m
