The Kyotanabe region south of Uji City in Kyoto is one of the most famous areas for producing award winning gyokuro. This gyokuro comes from the well-known tea farmer Uejima-san, who is based in the famous tea producing region Wazuka, but has tea fields out in the vicinity, including Kyotanabe Village.
