Overview
Pairing: shortbread, fresh fruit, or mild cheeses

This is a Bai Sha Xi production "Gong Jian" grade tea, which is similar to Tian Jian tea in every way except that Gong Jian "Tribute" grade is a tipper grade composed of grade 1 and grade 2 leaves. This was aged for 10 years by Bai Sha Xi in Anhua county of Hunan before being packaged into paper cartons and a lovely wooden box in 2021. The 10+ years of aging has given this tea an aged silk and cream aspect that comes with aging. There is smokiness present but with the aging it's subtle and welcoming. We'd describe this tea as fruity, smoky, and sweet, but with a lubricating and long-lasting mouth-feel. Bai Sha Xi Tea Factory in Anhua County of Hunan is the earliest producer of "Dark Tea" (hei cha) in Hunan and the first to produce the Golden Flower bricks in China. Bai Sha Xi was established in 1940 to produce Hei Cha bricks, then in 1953 they produced the first Fu Brick with Golden Flowers. They also produce Hei Cha, Hua Zhuan, Tian Jian, and Qian Liang teas. Each wooden box contains four paper cartons of aged Gong Jian. Each carton is 220 grams. You can choose to purchase the entire wooden box with 4 cartons x 220 grams each or you can purchase one paper carton by itself, or even 50 grams (comes in our resealable pouches). 2021 packaged 2011 harvested ** Please note: We will do everything we can to protect the wooden box during shipping, but we cannot refund or discount for damage to the wooden box
