Our Maestro lineup of shou puer connects modern production with the earliest days of its development. Overseen by Master Li, a shou puer technician/wizard since 1975, these teas preserve the best parts of traditional processing, while taking advantage of decades of expertise. Make sure to check the About Master Li tab for more details. Made from Huazhuliangzi early spring material, this tea represents what we love about Mengsong area shou puer, with a heavier emphasis on fragrance and fruitiness. Although lighter in body than the other two in this series, this tea exhibits notes of dark cherry and plum, with a sweet-leaning character and great huigan. Clean and crisp, this tea still offers plenty of body, with a creamy texture and full feeling in the mouth. Region: Huazhuliangzi, Yunnan Picking Period: Early Spring 2022 $0.16/gram
