This juicy Bangwei raw puer delivers a gentle orchid fragrance reminiscent of Jingmai, along with fruit notes that balance it out on the sweet side. The flavour continues to linger well after taking a sip and leaves a pleasant feeling in the mouth and throat. This tea continues to press forward with each brew. A gentle bitterness remains constant, just to let you know it’s there, but can also be brought out with a heavier hand. Overall this tea has great endurance over many infusions, with the floral notes eventually giving way to more sweetness Bangwei is located close to Jingmai and therefore shares some similar traits, but with its own unique character. It’s also known for its high altitude (~1900 meters) and having quite a few old/ancient trees. While this tea admittedly comes from younger arbour material, that just means more fun for everyone.
