What is a First Flush of tea? First Flush is the freshest tea available. It is the very first pick of leaves off the tea plants for the current season. Since our tea doesn't travel as far from our farm to you, it is likely some of the freshest tea you can find. This means maximum flavor in every cup. New to loose leaf tea? If you are used to commercial bagged teas you will notice some differences with loose leaf tea. Loose leaf tea generally produces a more flavorful and aromatic cup compared to tea bag tea because the leaves have more room to expand and release their full taste. Loose leaf tea often consists of whole or larger tea leaves, retaining more of their natural essential oils and nuanced flavors. In contrast, tea bag tea is typically made from smaller, broken tea leaves (dust and fannings), which can result in a quicker infusion but often a more one-dimensional or astringent taste. Additionally, loose leaf tea allows for multiple infusions, whereas tea bag tea tends to lose its strength after a single steep. Loose leaf will usually require a tea infuser.
