This 2013 Xiaguan 111th Anniversary Tuo Zhi Yuan is a collectible piece of history! 沱之源 translates as the “Origin of Tuo”; it was created to celebrate a very important anniversary of one of China's most celebrated tea companies. The company did not specify how many years the 'mao cha' was aged before pressing, but they typically wait at least 3-4 years before doing so. Xiaguan's time-tested production methods are now classified as intangible cultural heritage. In the cup, it expresses the classic Xiaguan profile: vibrant and assertive at first, gradually revealing floral sweetness, mineral clarity, and enduring huigan. This is a tea that is quite tasty now, but will be fantastic to drink in another 10 - 15 years. About Xiaguan Tuo Cha Founded in 1902, Xiaguan is a company with a rich history, including caravans from Yunnan to Tibet and a leading part in the development of 'cooked' Pu Er in the 1970s.
