A gentle peach aroma — aged two years for effortless drinkability Open the bag to a gentle peach aroma — a sweetness that’s remarkably clean, refreshing, and touched with a subtle hint of zest. This is a Japanese black tea (wakocha) made from Benifuki, a cultivar originally developed for black tea production by crossing the Japanese Benihomare with a Darjeeling variety (Cd86). What makes this tea special is its two years of careful aging. The time mellows any roughness, leaving behind a beautifully balanced cup — soft sweetness, mild astringency, and a clean finish that makes it almost magically drinkable. No milk or sugar needed, though it also works beautifully as a milk tea. From the same organic farm as our Moegi sencha — Sugimoto-en in Kanaya, Shizuoka.
