This tea has been machine-compressed using a "metal mold" technique, giving it a strong, espresso-like character with pronounced "Hui Gan" (returning sweetness). Though it retains some bitterness and astringency, it is rich and full-bodied with a sweet, lingering aftertaste. The taste is deep and complex, featuring aged woody and camphor notes. An excellent choice for both immediate enjoyment and long-term storage. Initially kept in traditional, well-controlled wet storage, it was moved to dry storage in Vancouver in 2002. This tea cake is perfect for appreciating now, with great potential for aging in the future. Breaking it into smaller pieces is recommended to improve airflow, which creates better storage conditions and accelerates the aging process, enhancing its flavor and taste over time.
