We’ve gone very few years without releasing a Bangdong raw puer, and for good reason. This was one of our earliest introductions to this Lincang village, which impressed us right away with a cooling sensation in the throat. This cooling sensation gave way to the name. However, the name was also a lesson though, as some people (even a careless blogger) took it literally thinking that maybe this was made from winter material – even though we explicitly mentioned that it was spring tea. Name confusion aside, this tea was a very balanced one when we initially offered it, with some young sheng aggressiveness, but also a nice sweetness. Today, this tea has maintained its identity very well and remains recognizable. It’s still sweet and has a great huigan, still offers a cooling sensation and lingering fragrance, but with a typical smoothness you’d expect after 11 years. Revisiting this in 2026 has been a very satisfying experience. Availability: 4 x 200g cakes
