Okuharuka is a relatively new extremely late budding green cultivar with cold resistance which was bred at the Green Tea Laboratory of Saitama Prefecture Agriculture and Forestry Research Center. It is an intriguing cultivar that has a subtle and delicate scent of cherry blossom leaves. When steeped with hotter temperatures, one will obtain even more of its floral essence.
