PREORDER available late May 🍵 2026 #0921.S2 Morita Tea Shop: Tama Shizuku, Premium Sencha by Morita Tea Shop | Teatico
Overview
This tamashizuku sencha is Morita Tea Garden’s premium sencha among the tea products they offer throughout the year. A tea master blended and finished the carefully selected first harvested tea. The finely twisted tea leaves provide evidence that these leaves were harvested before the fiber of the leaves hardens. These leaves were picked early after sprouting, and were carefully steamed, kneaded, and dried. This tea has a profound taste with magnificent umami and sufficient shibumi (bitterness). The Morita family has been craftily blending tea for some 80 years in the Sayama region of Saitama prefecture (north of Tokyo, and one of the major tea producing regions in Japan) to develop high quality tea. As a blender, they select high quality leaves from various tea farms in Japan, and buy it as aracha or processed but unfinished tea.
