Overview
Tip: start at ~95°C, then adjust down 3–5°C if it turns sharp.
Pairing: stone fruit, roast chicken, or buttery pastries

Made from Taiwanese Ruanzhi varietal material, this highly oxidized oolong sits somewhere between the oolong and black tea worlds, leaning closer to the latter in our opinion. The extended oxidation brings out deep chocolate notes alongside hints of plum, creating a profile that’s both familiar and a bit unusual. Oolongs don’t usually get pushed this far in processing, which gives this tea a unique character that stands apart from more conventional oolongs. The result is something that drinks like a mellow black tea but maintains enough personality to keep things interesting. An approachable tea for those who like things on the darker, maltier side, or just for anyone curious about what happens when you push oxidation to its limits. Each bamboo wrapped mini-tong consists of 7 x 7g coins. $0.13/gram Picking Period: Spring 2025 Region: Simao, Yunnan
