We're hoping to source a new lot in the future, but there is no guarantee. The depths of deep-steamed sencha. An opaque liquor with a heavily textured mouthfeel that reveals the brothy brilliance of submerged vegetation. A subtle floral quality cleans up in the finish. A signature Japanese tea, indeed. A 2025 first flush spring tea from our friends at the Otsuka Green Tea Co. It’s a deep-steamed “fukamushi” sencha blend of Yabukita cultivars growing in the Kakegawa, Kikugawa, and Shimada regions of Shizuoka, Japan. This tea is made in the “Shizuoka” style that originated in Kakegawa and the longer steam time must be carefully balanced to produce a heavier cup that does not lose its color or fragrance. The particular outcome of each lot of tea will highly depend on the individual tea maker. Ingredients: green tea Steeping Instructions 3 grams | 10-12 oz water | 175°F | Steep 3 min.
