Overview
Pairing: breakfast pastries, aged cheese, or dark chocolate

A must-try for connoisseurs of dark-roasted teas. This Iron Goddess (Tieguanyin) is full of surprises. Admire the tightly rolled leaves that resemble precious and luscious jet black pearls. When infused, it offers an intense aroma of baked goods and toasted nuts. The fermentation of red serrated leaves releases a mature fruity aroma, with toasted nut notes from roasting, creating a full-bodied taste reminiscent of the single origin chocolate truffles. Our Iron goddess is from Muzha, an area just outside of Taipei. It's made with the Tieguanyin cultivar originally from Fujian, China. "Guanyin" is the Goddess of compassion and "Tie" means metal referring to the mineral rich content of the soil that translates into the tea in its home territory of Anxi, China. We are very lucky to work with a small family-run farm that's been around for more than 130 years, priding themselves with the highest quality of traditional Muzha iron goddess teas. If you're just starting out or interested in exploring what makes oolong tea worthwhile, we recommend this one. If you're already knee-deep and need a reliable companion to match your drinking pace or aging aspirations, 'Iron goddess' is a worthwhile investment.
