The Mirik Valley gives this one a distinct edge among Darjeelings — an autumnal pluck with the coppery-chestnut liquor the district is known for, but rounded out by a peachy sweetness that lingers under the initial brisk hit. Coffee notes come through underneath, giving the cup a bit more weight than a typical spring flush. The leaf is loose black, neat, with a modest amount of tips mixed in, which points to careful sorting after manufacture. Steep it in freshly boiled water for three to five minutes; toward the longer end of that window, the chestnut character comes forward more, while a shorter steep keeps the peach up front.
