This is a cake composed entirely of the "huang pian" (mature larger leaves) that were hand-plucked from the mao cha (loose leaf raw pu-erh) that composed our Spring 2018 Jinggu productions. The larger leaves were left in Jinggu for a year to sweat, and then pressed into these lovely cakes. These large leaves are entirely from wild arbor or ancient arbor tea trees and have a great deal of depth and flavor. They deliver a honey-like sweetness with a nice viscous lubricating mouth-feel. We've given this tea the name 春晓 which means "Spring Morning" because of its fresh but gentle character. 357 Grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong) Wrapper Design and Illustration by Bang Tran June 6th 2019 pressing (Spring 2018 harvested leaves) ** Please note that from July 12th 2021 we are offering a 357 Gram version only. The 400 gram version sold previously is sold out. The 357 gram cake has been stored in Jinggu from June 2019 until July 2021, and so might have a somewhat different taste due to differences in storage. This tea has been tested in a certified laboratory for 191 pesticides, and is within the EU MRL limits set for those 191 pesticide residues.
