Overview
Directly sourced from Shizuoka Prefecture, one of Japanβs most celebrated tea-growing regions. This high-grade matcha is made from first-harvest Yabukita cultivar tea leaves, known for their strength and robust flavour. This matcha offers a deep, vibrant green colour with medium umami and fresh vegetal notes. Traditionally, first flush leaves were reserved for high grade matcha. Matcha made from these leaves is layered, umami forward, and naturally smooth. It is best enjoyed on its own, whisked simply with water, allowing the character of the tea to shine without milk or sweeteners. Cultivar: Yabukita Yabukita (γγΆγγ) is the most widely grown cultivar, accounting for over 70% of Japanβs tea crops. Itβs known for its balanced profile, fresh grassy notes, and strong umami.
