Overview
Sundried Gushu Red | 雲南古樹曬紅 Tasting notes: Malty, plum, raisins Origin: Lincang, Yunnan, China Cultivar: 雲南大葉 (Yunnan Big Leaf) Elevation: 2000m Oxidation: ⦿⦿⦿⦿⦿Harvested in early spring from 200-year-old trees, this sundried black tea has a distinctly fruity aroma and tangy aftertaste. Why we love it: Because it is sundried, it has a much brighter, fruitier flavour profile than the average black tea. It is made from the first spring harvest of 200-year-old assamica trees in Xiaohusai Village, Lincang. Sun-drying the tea (instead of oven-baking it) allows it to age and change flavour over time. "Gushu" means "ancient tree" and refers to tea trees that are more than 200 years old. What is black tea?
