Overview
A perennial favourite with both our customers and ourselves, this tea carries a deep fragrance and floral flavour. There is also some gentle, but pleasant, bitterness and plenty of sweetness in the throat, making this an exceptionally balanced tea. Disclaimer: If you’re expecting plum or stone fruit notes based on the name, those may be slightly detectable at this stage, but will become increasingly obvious as the years go on. 5 or more years of patient storage will be rewarded. The material for this tea comes from ~40yr “fangyang” (放养/left to grow) trees that are not treated with pesticides, fertilizer or any other intervention outside of picking. This is hands down our preferred type of material as it often lends a richer flavour and texture, but at a more affordable level than gushu or old trees. Picking period: Pre-April 6 $0.20/gram
