Overview
Style: Black Origin: Assam, India Description: During the processing of high grades of black tea, any damaged or broken leaf pieces are left out of the final product. These "Fannings" are then collected and sold at a lesser price, usually to be put into the tea bags that you will find at your local grocery - this is the classic strong brew that has become the staple of many kitchens across Europe and North America since the Second World War. The Fannings we source come from a high-grade organic Pekoe tea from Assam. This tea is a higher-quality organic version of the classic and famously strong and straightforward cuppa. Tasting Notes: The smell of the steep is bold and unmistakably malty, as is the taste. The astringency is pleasant, but holds no punches, and the colour of the cup is a deep amber rust. This is one of our best steeps for milk and/or honey, which it carries exceptionally well without losing its boldness and the taste of the tea. Brewing Instructions: 2g per cup. 100ºC water. steep 3-5 minutes. Organic
