Overview
Ilam Green is a vibrant, steamed green tea with gently twisted and curled leaves. The tea is made by jet steaming the leaves after they are withered in order to preserve their fresh and lively characteristics. It's light and refreshing liquor has notes of sweet butter lettuce and delicate baby arugula with hints of aromatic coriander, dried gardenia, and fresh asparagus. It can be enjoyed every day, by itself, or paired with a light meal. Baskets of finely plucked tea leaves, mainly two leaves, and a bud, are brought to the factory, and the tea leaves are then withered over a period of 4 to 6 hours, depending on the weather condition. The leaves are then jet-steamed for 60 to 80 seconds. Steamed leaves are transferred to netted troughs and cooled for over 4 hours. The cooled and tender leaves are then rolled for over 30 minutes and allowed to rest for 30 minutes. They are rolled and panned again simultaneously for over 15 minutes. The conditioned leaves are dried in an oven for over an hour, hand-sorted, and allowed to rest. The result is our steamed Ilam Green teas.*Micro lot- Packaging may vary*
