Overview
Genmaicha is a popular Japanese tea; it's often made with a base of bancha, but ours is a blend of high-quality sencha green tea and roasted rice. The style evolved as a way to stretch the tea harvest, and its balanced grassy and nutty flavor remains a favorite. This lot is grown organically on a small, century-old family farm in Shizuoka; after the leaves are harvested, steamed and rolled, the finished sencha tea is hand-mixed with roasted rice. Soothing and mellow, the rice adds a wonderful toasted note to this refreshing green tea. Also available in teabags.
