A mid-summer release from 2016, this is a tea we kick ourselves for not buying more and saving. Mangfei is an oft overlooked area in Lincang, partly since it has no ancient trees. The oldest trees (used for this tea) are in the 90-110 year range, which is still plenty old and offers a great value. Initially a very balanced tea with good texture and strong energy, the passage of time has maintained this tea’s strength, but with less brightness in exchange for some leather and slight smoke.
