Overview
This is the wrong tea to judge with your eyes, because looks can be deceiving. While these leaves wonβt win any beauty contests, they perform surprisingly well when brewed. Similar to puer huangpian, this Dancong huangpian is comprised of the old leaves and stems that have been sorted out from higher end productions. This is done after the initial processing/roasting when the tea has become maocha. The older leaves that have lost their elasticity and stems are removed to improve the appearance and consistency of the final tea. In previous years our Bouquet was often a blend of many different teas, but this year we were lucky. This batch consists of tea picked from Aofuhou and Laocong (old bush) Baxian productions. The result is pleasantly fragrant tea plenty of fruitiness and even a touch of lychee. While this is a solid daily drinker as it is, close your eyes and it could easily beat many regular Dancong productions that come in at a higher price. Please note that the 250g size does not include a tin. $0.10-0.15/gram Varietals: Aofuhou, Baxian/εΉε―ε, ε «δ» Region: Wudong Shan, Guangdong
