Overview
Russian Caravan Black Tea This tea is a traditional recipe blending Assam and Sumatra Tea, an aromatic and at the same time soft tea with a very slight, smoky tone. It gets its name and distinct flavour from the 18th-century camel caravans that transported teas to Europe from India, China and Ceylon, via Russia which often took a year to do and the heady smoke from the camp fires mingled with the tea gave rise to this aromatic classic tea. If you need a little more smoke, then try our Smoky Russian Caravan with added lapsang. Cup Colour: brown golden Brewing time: Use freshly drawn boiling water and steep for 2 to 3 minutes. NOTE: This tea is a traditional blend sometimes called Russian Samovar Tea, it is not like the general high street Russian Caravan which has lapsang added. If you need a little more smoke, then try our Smoky Russian Caravan with added lapsang.
