weight: 3oz / loose teaorigin: Yunnan, China volume: 8 ouncestea leaves: 7 gramsH2O temp: 200Fsteeping time: 1 to 2 minutes Large-leaf, semi-wild Pu-erh variety, this is a high-altitude Yunnan black tea at around 90% oxidation. It brews to a golden orange. Flavor is full body with a hint of nectar. ‘Tian’ is a river and is also Chinese for “Heaven.” It is the ancient name for Yunnan province, whose people thought it was Heaven on Earth. ‘Hong’ is Chinese for the color red. So this could be called “Red Tea from Heaven.” Tian Hong is a beautiful and delicate tea. This golden-tipped black tea is smooth and fragrant. In the 19th century, Tian Hong was often presented as a gift to European ambassadors and other elites.
