Once plucked and collected, the leaves are processed into a tisane. After harvest, the cut branches undergo an oxidation process similar to the processing involved in the creation of black tea; This technique brings out the rich, warm red colouring of the harvest, both in the branches and in the steep, and enhances the flavour into a full-bodied and naturally sweet cup. This pure, organic rooibos steeps to a beautiful clear red amber infusion. Earthy wood notes add an almost savoury aroma to the fruity and vanilla-sweet finish. This tisane is excellent on its own, or with a touch of milk or milk alternative when brewing a stronger infusion. Many people now use it as a base for tea lattés; the natural sweetness of rooibos and the colouring of the steep hold up against milk almost as well as a black tea. This makes it an excellent caffeine-free alternative for those who still want a touch of milk and honey in their cup. Tasting Notes: Lightly fruity with a full-mouth flavour and gentle earthiness.
