Overview
This tea came to us through a tea farmer’s stash in Jinghong. He pulled it out as we sat at the tea table and recalled how he came to press this huangpian while helping a Korean customer source tea from famous villages. Mahei was already popular in 2007. Huangpian very much wasn’t. It wouldn’t be for many years (and once puer prices sharply rose) until people started to value huangpian, but when he tried it, he instantly recognized its potential. As such, he pressed as much of it as he could. 10 years later, we tried it and saw the same value. Another 9 years later, this tea still performs well, with a honey sweetness, zero bitterness, and a great aroma. This is easily the most developed tea of our Reserve batch, and it’s also the only one that has undergone humid storage for a period (10 years in Jinghong). A slight humid storage note is there, but overall this tea is still very clean. Availability: 2 x 357g cakes
