Wild grown Jiaogulan (绞股蓝) from Liang He of Dehong! Grown in the mountains of southwestern China for thousands of years, Jiaogulan is a wild herb that has been consumed as a tea or in soups. Jiaogulan is believed to have many properties similar to Ginseng, and is purported to have almost 3 times as many saponins (gypenosides) as Panax Ginseng. You can brew Jiaogulan much as you would a green tea, pu-erh or oolong. Measure 5 grams per 100ml brewing device (gaiwan or cha hai). Use 85-90c spring water and wash once briefly to activate the Jiaogulan. Drink successive infusions. Brewing time can increase after a few steepings (start with 25 seconds). Our Liang He Jiaogulan is different from our Yunnan Wild Grown Jiaogulan * Gynostemma pentaphyllum because it's purely leaf without the stems, making it a bit more bitter than the Yunnan Wild Grown. We recommend short steeping times and/or using less Jiaogulan. This is very strong and potent jiaogulan! Only harvested in the Autumn! Contains no caffeine whatsoever!
