Overview
Tip: start at ~95°C, then adjust down 3–5°C if it turns sharp.

Wan Gong Zhai is a small village to the north and east of Yi Wu town just north of Gua Feng Zhai right on the Yunnan Laos border. To the north is "Yi Shan Mo". All three of these villages compose the highest altitude tea areas of the Yi Wu mountains. The relative remoteness of Wan Gong Zhai, which is accessible only by a narrow dirt track, has helped preserve its pure and clean environment. We are proud to offer this 15 kilogram in total production made entirely from large-leaf varietal ancient arbor tea trees! Wan Gong tea will make you re-think what "Yi Wu" tea is with its intense cha qi and balanced bitter/astringent profile! This tea was compressed in a small tea factory in Yi Wu town where unusually large 40 kilogram stone presses were used. Low temperature (35C) “baking” was used to dry these cakes after the compression process thus preserving their integrity! In total just 20 kilograms of this tea has been produced. We have delayed sales of this cake for more than 4 weeks to allow the water vapor from pressing to dissipate. Further aging will only improve this wonderful tea! Net Weight: 250 grams per cake (7 cakes per bamboo leaf tong) Compression date: October 2012 Harvest time: October 2012 Harvest Area: Wan Gong Zhai (village), Yi Wu mountain range, Meng La county of Xi Shuang Banna Total Production amount: 80 cakes (20 kilograms)
