This exceptional Traditional Iron Buddha Oolong was discovered in 2003 through our oolong tea supplier, a dedicated farmer and processor with over three generations of expertise. We eagerly requested him to source this remarkable traditional oolong tea from an old family in Anxi, Fujian. To maintain its quality and ensure extended storage, the tea underwent a re-roasting process using traditional charcoal techniques to keep the leaves dry. We then allowed it to rest for half a year, allowing it to breathe and soften its smokiness. Finally, the tea leaves were vacuum-sealed in packages designed for long-term preservation, securing their rich heritage and unique flavor profile. Due to its medium oxidation and roasting, the tea presents a darker color. As we brew this tea, its dark-chocolate and smoky fragrance wafts with the steam, subtly indicating its over 30 years of patient aging. The dark-brown leaves unfurl from their rolled forms to produce a golden-brown infusion. After long-term aging, this tea reveals undertones of aged leather and chestnut, enriched with a fruity aftertaste. Thanks to the vacuum sealing, the tea retains a pleasant smokiness from the roasting, preserving its strong and robust energy and taste. This quality makes it a favorite among experienced tea drinkers. It also serves as an excellent choice for post-meal enjoyment, offering a uniquely satisfying experience.
