Tea: Special Grade Keemun Gongfu (特级功夫祁门红茶)Type: Red TeaHarvest: April 2025Region: Anhui Province, Qimen County, Pingli Township.Producer: Master BiTasting Notes: Malty, Barley, Floral, Caramel. Here is a Keemun from the source. Made at a workshop in Guixi Village from a master trained in the old state factory, this tea brews up an affordable but tasty cup of tradition. Its aroma is sweet but not in the usual squashy way of modern Chinese red tea, in flavor it is crisp but not astringent. Blended and broken as was standard in past generations, these tiny dark grains of tea offers a composite taste that lingers in the mouth and throat. It has the genuine taste and experience that only Qimen County's heirloom Chuyezhong can grant to Keemun. Slightly drying, this tea invites the addition of the milk it was originally paired with, but is also well suited to gongfu infusions. Above all else, this is a tea that packs a punch. The buzz and robust aroma you can enjoy with this tea are precisely the attributes that once put Qimen County on the map.
