It can also be used to store matcha powder for daily consumption. The Natsume is usually a small, rounded lacquerware container made from wood and finished with natural urushi lacquer, though modern versions may also use plastic or ceramic. It features a domed lid and a subtly tapering body, making it easy to hold and open. Natsume usually have a minimalist and elegant design. Traditional Natsume are often finished in solid black or red lacquer, sometimes decorated with makie (gold or silver powder designs), featuring motifs like cherry blossoms, cranes, or seasonal themes. It is said that the name "natsume" comes from its similarity in shape to the fruit of the plant "jujube" (jujube). Made in Japan Size approximately 6.8cm x 6.8cm
