A sencha which really cranks up the umami delivering a smooth thick umami taste with grass tones. I'm very excited to offer a selection of Sencha from Yame Tea Kumaen, a regular winner of national Japanese tea competitions as well as international tea competitions. They are a family run farming going for over a century with the current tea master Masahiro Kuma being the 3rd generation in the family tea farm and the head of operation Kazumi Nakatani a 4th generation! Tasting Notes: - Smooth texture- Very high umami Harvest: Spring, 5th May 2025 Steamed: Light (Asamushi) Origin: Kuma Family Tea Farm, Yame, Fukuoka, Kyushu, JapanAltitude: 100mCultivar: OkuyutakaFarmer: Masahiro KumaSourced: Direct from the farmerPercentage of price going back to the farmer: 30%+ Brewing Advice:- Heat water to roughly 75°C/167°F- Use 2 teaspoons per cup/small teapot- Brew for 30-45 seconds Packaging: Resealable ziplock bag
