Yi Dui is one of our natural tea gardens located West of Da Ping Zhang, it has a low shading, sandy soil with medium amount of organic matter on medium slopes. It features a good Jingmai fragrance, low bitterness, medium astringency. Tea from natural tea gardens is less powerful than leaves from the ancient tea gardens. You will also notice that the leaves are more yellow due to the low shading (less chlorophyll needed) and probably a deficiency in nitrogen. These high altitude young gardens (1600m) produce a much better tea than the plantations established down the village, we only use these to produce our cakes.
