After picking, the leaves are rolled to bruise the leaf slightly, bringing natural flavanoids to the surface. Red Rooibos sits for about one week while the flavors mature and is then dried and packed for shipment. Rooibos Herbal tea is naturally Caffeine and Gluten Free and has virtually no tannins. It has been tested to be extremely low (almost none detected) in oxalates as well. Rooibos has a great taste on it's own and is easily blended with a variety of herbs, spices, and even regular teas making it an extremely versatile. It's good hot or iced, with sweetening or not, and can be garnished with citrus for a festive occasion. We often brew Rooibos then add a little fruit juice for a treat.
