Get the full and rich flavour of Kenya Lelsa Estate Tea FBOP, perfectly crafted. Sourced from the famous Lelsa Estate in Kenya, this black tea is all about carefully selected Flowery Broken Orange Pekoe (FBOP) leaves for a perfect balance of bold and smooth in every cup. Known for its amber liquor and malty notes, it’s a treat for tea lovers looking for great quality and taste. Enjoy on its own or with milk, this is the tea to elevate your daily tea time. The Lelsa Tea Estate The Lelsa Tea Estate has a long history in Kenya’s tea industry, established in the early 20th century by pioneers who saw the potential of the region to produce top quality teas. Situated in the highlands with volcanic soils and a temperate climate, Lelsa became synonymous with tea excellence. Over the years the estate has refined its practices, adopting sustainable farming methods and innovative harvesting techniques to protect the environment and maintain its reputation. These eco-friendly approaches not only conserve natural resources and biodiversity, but also show Lelsa’s commitment to responsible agriculture. Lelsa Tea Estate is a major player in Kenya’s tea scene, producing around 1,500 metric tons of tea per year. That’s a lot of tea! This is a testament to careful cultivation, handpicked harvesting, and precise processing to preserve the unique characteristics of their teas. Today the estate is famous not only for its great teas, but also for its community work. Through education, healthcare and fair labour practices, Lelsa upholds its legacy of quality and care. How to make Kenya Lelsa Estate Tea FBOP Boil Fresh Water – Boil fresh filtered water to 200°F to 212°F (93°C to 100°C). The water is important to bring out the flavours. Measure the Leaves – Use one teaspoon of leaf tea per cup (approximately 240ml). Adjust to your taste for a stronger or weaker brew. Steep the Tea – Pour the hot water over the tea and steep for 3 to 5 minutes. During this time, the amber colour and bold taste will develop. Don’t over steep, as it can become bitter. Strain and Serve – Carefully strain the tea into your cup or teapot and remove the leaves. Enjoy the tea plain to appreciate the natural flavour, or add milk or sweetener if you prefer. Tasting Notes A truly special tasting experience that reflects its heritage and craftsmanship. On the first sip, you’ll notice the full bodied character, a robust yet smooth texture that coats the palate. The amber liquor has an earthy undertone with subtle malty notes for depth and complexity. A floral aroma rises as an afterthought, adding a touch of elegance to the profile. For those who like a long finish, the tea has a pleasant warmth with a nuanced sweetness that unfolds with every sip. Whether enjoyed plain or with milk, this is a balanced blend of bold and refined, for the most discerning palates. Each cup is a testament to craftsmanship, a comforting and sophisticated experience. Whether enjoyed alone or in good company, this tea will leave a lasting impression.
