It is a type of tea that harmonizes well with the characteristics of the native Korean leaf tea tree, a deciduous species. Minhwang is the extra tea processing step which transforms green tea into yellow which involves wrapping the tea and placing it into a wooden box, with the heat and humidity causing non-enzymatic oxidisation to occur, causing the tea to shift in colour from green to yellow.
