Overview
Sourced from South Africa where the Aspalathus linearis, a member of the Fabaceae family of plant, grows natively, Rooibos or Red Bush, so named because of the fresh green rooibos leaves turn a distinctive red colour following oxidization, is a caffeine-free herbal tea that has been growing in popularity over recent years. Like our standard luxury Rooibos tea, this tisane, another name for a herbal tea, has the same features the same single-origin South African loose-leaf from the Western Cape, but with natural vanilla flavouring. Once the small, needle-like leaves have infused with boiling water, a bright orange infusion is seen. For those who already love the full-bodied, earthy caramel and creamy taste of Red Bush, this blend elevates expectations with a mild vanilla sweet aftertaste that is ever so moreish. Enjoy as a hot or cold brew, with or without milk and sweetener. One of the best features of drinking Rooibos tea is its similar taste to black tea. However, a cup of Rooibos can be enjoyed at any time of the day thanks to it being naturally caffeine-free. The health benefits of Rooibos Rooibos is full of benefiical anti-oxidants, notably aspalathin, a polyphenol with potential anti-diabetic properties, is only found in rooibos. Our Vanilla Rooibos tea is also a rich source of antioxidants, which may assist with lowering blood pressure and reducing the risk of heart disease. Alternatives to this South African loose leaf tea If you like our Vanilla Rooibos tea, you may like to try our single-origin Organic Rooibos loose leaf tea. Another tea from this region is our Chai of Madagascar, which features a blend of South African Honey Bush leaves and exotic spices. If you would like to explore fruity teas, our Fruity and Rooibos Discovery Collection is an excellent first step.
