Overview
Alishan High Mountain Oolong | 阿里山高山烏龍 Tasting notes: Vegetal, floral, buttery Origin: Alishan, Chiayi, Taiwan Cultivar: 青心烏龍 Qingxin Oolong Elevation: 1680m Oxidation: ⦿⦿○○○ Medium roastedOne of Taiwan's most famous teas, Alishan High Mountain Oolong is fresh and vegetal with a natural floral aroma and buttery texture. Why we love it: It has a super thick, buttery texture, which is from the cultivar and the environment in which it grows. It's grown in lofty elevations where the tea plants are blanketed in a sea of clouds (雲海) every morning, yielding plumper, juicier leaves. Every sip of this tea is imbued with mountain essence (山頭氣) - like you're breathing in crisp highland air. The small family farm that makes this tea is situated in Shizhuo 石卓 at 1680m above sea level. It is medium roasted to elevate its natural aromas to another level. What is oolong tea?
