This is a nice 2015 harvested and piled tea that was blended and packaged in 2018. It's a blend of lightly wet pile and heavier piled grade 2 leaves. The contrast of the two differently processed leaves both with the advantage of already being semi-aged makes this a balanced and pleasurable Liu Bao! The taste is complex with some tastes of mushroomy ripe pu-erh with some bittersweet dark chocolate notes and sweet after-taste. This countered with the betel nut earthiness of the darker traditional Liu Bao gives this tea a complexity that is rarely found in the more traditional Liu Bao teas.
