Overview
Da Dan (大旦) varietal oolong is a unique Huang Jin Gui sub-type that is relatively rare and is often blended with Tie Guan Yin to bolster the overall mouth-feel and aroma. Despite being lesser known it is nonetheless a unique Anxi varietal that deserves to be enjoyed in its unadulterated form. Its aromatic qualities share something in common with Huang Jin Gui, but are higher and more floral. The mouth-feel is thick and the taste is thick with an almost Jin Xuan like milk-like creaminess to it. The leaves are thick and unfurl gradually with each steep, giving many steeps without becoming boring. You'd expect that such a lovely and unique tea would be expensive, but our offering is affordable and accessible! The tea is grown in Geqiu Village in Anxi County at an altitude of 650-700 meters by the same grower as our "Wu Dan" varietal . Spring tea is harvested in April and Autumn tea is harvested in the second half of September.
