One of our most popular premium Dan Cong oolong tea at the tea shop. Song Zhong refers to the original tea tree (Shui Xian hybrid) of this tea was planted during the Song dynasty. This tea was sourced in 2017 from the farmer. We left the tea in chaozhou until 2019 to have it charcoal roasted multiple times. The tea leaves were roasted under low temperature for many hours to give it a balanced fruity flavor. Our Song Zhong Dan Cong has a very pleasant ripe peach and fresh apricot aroma. The tea liquid is a light pink color for the beginning brews. Then it becomes golden color in later infusions. It tastes rich and complex which lingers for a long time on the tongue. When making the tea using the traditional Chaozhu gongfu cha style, the tea develops an intense after taste that travels to the deeper end of the throat.
