The 7th Tea of Christmas! I hadn’t planned on crafting this tea when I first made my list. Yeah, I have a list & I actually check it more than just twice. Anyway, I was going to make Blackberry Custard Tart Green Tea, which was the green tea that won the most votes in this year’s poll by a rather large margin. However, the teas that I use for that blend were tied up in customs a bit too long, so I had to think on my feet & come up with something on the fly that would use an alternate green tea base. I had some Chinese Sencha, so I went with that & I decided to stick pretty close to what I was originally going to do. So, I crafted a blackberry tea with vanilla bean & nutmeg using the Chinese Sencha. Then I also added a little bit of cinnamon & instead of custard notes, I stuck with a light vanilla tone to create this, a Spiced Blackberry Compote Green Tea. The results are amazing, if I do say so myself. Lots of juicy, sweet blackberry flavor. Notes of warm cinnamon & a hint of nutmeg. Soft vanilla tones. It’s really tasty! Don’t worry, I will craft the Blackberry Custard Tart tea sometime soon, but for now, I hope you enjoy this tea as much as I do. organic ingredients: green tea, blackberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla bean & natural flavors to brew: shake the pouch gently before you start measuring to ensure proper distribution of ingredients. Use 3g of tea to 12oz of very hot water (175°F) & steep for 2 minutes. Strain & allow to cool for at least 5 minutes. Enjoy! serving suggestion: This tea is really good served hot or iced. It makes a really ice cold brew if you want a tasty iced tea. I enjoyed it a lot without any additions at all, but I found just a teensy bit of sugar will highlight the vanilla notes.
