The Xiaguan Zodiac Series (下关沱茶生肖系列 - Xiàguān Tuóchá Shēngxiào Xìliè) is collectible, gift-worthy series of raw pu er produced every year. They are often purchased for gifting, commemorating a birth year (本命年 - běnmìng nián), or as a speculative investment. Formats: cake (饼 - bǐng), brick tea (砖茶 - zhuānchá), and "bowl" shape (沱茶 - tuóchá). Production Dates: each tea was produced (i.e. pressed and packaged) one year before that of the Zodiac sign that it celebrates. Example: the Year of the Snake tea was produced in 2012 (the Year of the Dragon). Storage: super dry storage in Richmond, British Columbia, since 2014. Leaves: premium, chunkier leaves vs. most of Xiaguan's regular lines. COLLECTION SETS: Having acquired Mr. Zhang's collection of Xiaguan tuo cha, we have the unique opportunity to offer some full, unopened boxes in all three formats! The price is also extremely attractive. About Xiaguan Tuo Cha Founded in 1902, Xiaguan is a company with a rich history, including caravans from Yunnan to Tibet and a leading part in the development of 'cooked' Pu Er in the 1970s.
