This single cultivar uji hikari matcha is crafted by Yoshitsugu Furukawa & Mizuho Furukawa, a husband and wife duo working in the town of Gokasho within Uji. We have been working with the Furukawa family for years now, celebrating their pioneering organic production and character-driven single cultivar offerings. In 2025, their teas placed first overall in both the regional Kansai tea fair and the national tea fair—a supreme honor that reflects their stunning production. Traditionally used in Gyokuro production, Uji Hikari presents a complex profile with an intense umami and gentle sweetness.
